DESTINEY MCPHAUL put on one of the BEST PERFORMANCES I’VE SEEN IN YEARS!

I was in the building on 3/22/21 to witness Destiney McPhaul display greatness on the basketball court. Faced with the reality of, if the West Catholic Lady Burs lost this game to Notre Dame they would not make it to the state championship game, DESTINEY demonstrated that there are levels to the game of basketball, and there are certain levels you have to tap into in order to get what you want. She was in a different type of zone. A zone that i’m sure those closest to her have seen many times, such as in the Catholic League Championship in 2020. Destiney would not be stopped, and she made sure her teams ticket was punched for an opportunity to be called state champs. An athlete like her only comes around about every 10 years or so, and I heard she’s just as focused in the classroom. Destiney is in the class of 2021 with a scholarship from Virginia Tech. It’s going to be exciting continuing to watch her grow and develop. In the meantime, she’s still solidifying her high school legacy with classic performances people will be talking about for years to come.
