Norristown vs Coatesville 1995 RICHARD “Rip” HAMILTON (NBA STAR)
- Updated: July 18, 2014
Big Star & Raw Sports presents NORRISTOWN vs COATESVILLE featuring NBA STAR Richard “RIP” Hamilton when he was in high school. This game took place on December 24, 1995 at Norristown High School. This game is definitely a “Classic” and captures the level of talent that was in the suburbs of Philadelphia all throughout the 90’s. If you are familiar with this game, you know that there was 1 legendary play during the game that actually turned into a myth. Years later and prior to the footage surfacing, many didn’t believe it happened, and some like myself tell the story as if I was describing actually seeing the legendary “Big Foot”. Well, I was actually there (sitting near half court) when Rip Hamilton dunked on my boy’s Ty Crutchfield & Josiah Perry and said “MERRY CHRISTMAS” (The game was the night before Christmas). Those who weren’t in the house didn’t believe it, but you can see for yourself at the 21:00 minute mark. This game was also special because it featured 2 of Big Star’s Norristown teammates (93′-95′) who passed away. Lafton “Lil’ Jazz” Thompson died in 2013 after a battle with cancer, and Omar “O-Jenk” Jenkins died in 1997 in a fatal car crash. So, enjoy the memories of this Hoop Classic, and Keep It Locked with Big Star & Raw Sports for more of BIG STARS LOST TAPES.
