Big Stars Lost Tapes presents KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR “1965 High School Highlights” from a dominant game, POWER MEMORIAL vs RICE. This appeared to be a championship game and Kareem possibly reached a scoring milestone due to the stoppage of the game and him receiving the game ball which is customary when you reach 1,000 or 2,000 points (or become a school or leagues all time leading scorer). Few fun facts below:
– Sophomore year averaged 19ppg, led team to 27 straight victories en route to the 1963 New York City Catholic League Championship.
-Junior year averaged 26ppg, led team to another NYC Catholic League Championship.
-Senior year averaged 33ppg, won a 3rd NYC Catholic League Championship, although their 71 game winning streak was snapped by DeMatha HS of Maryland that year.
