The Question, The Answer, The Recap by: Nick Franklin

Year after year the top high school talent throughout America gather for All-Star games. The three year old Iverson Classic is the new kid on the block so to say. A name the entire hoop community loves, cherishes, and respects. The Iverson Game brings in coaches that are former and current pros. This year Will Bynum, Smush Parker, Stephen Jackson, JR Smith, Darius Miles, and Baron Davis headlined the coaching staff for the 2 teams. A lot of the time when u get to an All-Star game you have guys going through the motions, not playing defense but this all star game was different. It was a highly competitive game guys wanting to prove themselves against future rivals and teammates. You had the underrated guys trying to prove they belong (which they did). Isaiah Wong a name not originally on the roster SHOWED OUT, from his quick step back to his amazing 3 ball had him looking like the best player on the floor again (after dropping a 50 piece Monday). The University of Miami commit was proof that it doesn’t matter where you’re ranked stepping in the gym, you can be the best player in the gym at any given time. Another standout was Kahlil Whitney a 6’7” wing headed to the University of Kentucky (Go Cats!). Kahlil showcased a great first step, ability to get to the basket, and some high flying with a few alley-oop jams. Whitney and Wong both set Iverson game scoring records with 38 a piece. Other guys who showed out were Cassius Stanley (Duke) with his raw athleticism and tough shot making ability. Tre Mann (Florida) with his ability to get buckets many ways and in a hurry. Jahmius Ramsey (Texas Tech) and DJ Carton (Ohio State) were the pilots for the game who always ready for take off. All and all the game was amazing and I look forward to next years!
