Darryl Martin “This Is My Story” Legends Edition (1985 Pennsylvania State Champ)

This episode of “This Is My Story” features boxing legend Darryl Martin who is a native of Harrisburg, PA. Now Coach Martin, in his fighting days he went from neighborhood vigilante sticking up for local community members against bullies, to spending some legendary times in Philadelphia’s Champs Gym. He sparred with and was trained by some boxing greats. One of his many accomplishments as a pro fighter was winning the 1985 Junior Welterweight Pennsylvania State Championship against Dave Odem. Martin went on to be an amazing boxing trainer and youth counselor which he says is one of the things he’s most proud of. A man of God who’s calling in life is protecting people, and giving back to the youth. In this film he tells us some never heard before stories and gives out some priceless wisdom. Enjoy his story, and I’m thankful I had the opportunity to help preserve his legacy and give him his flowers.
