DJ WAGNER “Quick Glimpse” c/o 2023 Guard (CAMDEN HS) #1 in the Country

This is a quick glimpse at DJ Wagner c/o 2023 guard at Camden HS. By now the world has seen his skill set rather in the AAU setting or nationally televised game on ESPN. It’s always good to see players in different settings to see how they respond to different types of pressure. These clips were from a tough matchup against a 20-2 RUTGERS PREP team. They defended well in their zone and double teamed when they could. It was interesting seeing how DJ contributed in other ways when the shot may not have been falling or the defense was tight. One valuable attribute I noticed is that no matter the level of pressure he keeps him composure and doesn’t get rattled. Didn’t seem to get frustrated much and continued to encourage his teammates. He assisted other players in scoring and is very unselfish. He kept the pressure on the defense and found ways to a bucket by slashing to the lane. Defense became his offense when he used his wingspan to disrupt passing lanes, cause turnovers, and finish acrobatic off balance layups. From start to finish he plays and plays at a high level which is another great quality. It’s the things that don’t fill up the stat sheet that are sometimes the most important.
